Market Winners & Losers: Tenet Healthcare, AIG

The major indices headed into the holiday weekend on a positive note. The Dow closed up 1%, the S&P gained 1.3% and the Nasdaq added 1.8%.
Here are Friday’s winners and losers:
Winners
Tenet Healthcare Corp. (THC)
The health-care services company continued its recent uptrend, adding 7.1% on Friday. THC shares last traded at $4.81, up
32 cents on the day.
Sprint Nextel Corp. (S)
News that the wireless-communications company will begin selling HTC’s Hero Handsets and investors cheered, sending Sprint’s
stock up 6.4%. Sprint shares closed at $3.81, a gain of 23 cents on the day.
Wynn Resorts, Limited (WYNN)
Asia’s gaming results gave analysts enough confidence to increase the price target on the casino developer, pushing the stock
up 5.9%. WYNN shares last traded $56.55, up $3.13 on the day.
Regions Financial Corp. (RF)
The regional bank continued its volatile trading pattern, with shares closing up 5.8%. RF shares finished the week at $5.53,
a gain of 30 cents on the day.
Dow Chemical Company (DOW)
The plastics manufacturer headed into the holiday weekend with a boom as shares rose 5.7%. Dow Chemical shares last traded
at $21.31, up $1.15 on the day.
Losers
American International Group (AIG)
The insurer dropped 4.1% on the back of a sale of its Philippine-based businesses. AIG shares last traded $40.05, down $1.70
on the day.
Abercrombie & Fitch Co. (ANF)
The company’s dismal same-store sales led Citigroup to downgrade its stock, sending shares lower by 2.6%. ANF shares ended
the session at $30.17, a loss of 81 cents on the day.
H&R Block Inc. (HRB)
A quarterly earnings miss cost the tax services provider 2.3%. HRB finished the week at $16.62, down 39 cents on the day.
AFLAC Inc. (AFL)
The insurer dropped heading into the Labor Day weekend, with the stock losing 1.7%. AFL shares closed at $38.20, down 66 cents
on the day.
Public Services Enterprise Group Inc. (PEG)
The utility provider continued to fall, losing another 0.7% on the day. PEG last traded at $30.54, a loss of 23 cents on the
day.
