Market Winners & Losers: Ryder Systems, KB Home

The major indices start the week mixed on the back of higher commodity prices and a weaker dollar. The Dow closed up 0.2% and the S&P gained 0.4% while the ended the session flat.
Here are Monday’s winners and losers:
Winners
Ryder System Inc. (R)
The transportation systems provider gained 9.9% after an upgrade by Citi. Ryder shares last traded at $42.48, a gain of $3.81
on the day.
Black & Decker Corp. (BDK)
The tool manufacturer added 7.6% Monday after boosting its quarterly outlook. BDK shares closed at $50.82, up $3.58 on the
day.
Ford Motor Company (F)
The auto maker watched the stock rise 7% as sales in Europe experienced double-digit growth in September. Ford shares ended
the session at $7.62, a gain of 50 cents on the day.
Supervalu Inc. (SVU)
The grocer recovered after a Barclay’s downgrade Friday, ending Monday’s session up 5.7%. SVU shares finished Monday at $16.07,
up 87 cents on the day.
Ciena Corp. (CIEN)
After some positive words from Barron’s over the weekend, the communications equipment provider moved up 4.5% to end Monday
at $13.41 – a gain of 57 cents on the day.
Losers
KB Home (KBH)
News that the home builder is being investigated by the SEC dropped the stock by 7.8% on Monday. KBH shares closed at $15.17,
a loss of $1.29 on the day.
United States Steel Corp. (X)
Another report by Barron’s published over the weekend sent the steel manufacturer’s shares down by 3.3% Monday. X shares ended
the session at $42.41, down $1.44 on the day
Invesco Ltd. (IVZ)
The investment company started the week off with a dud as the stock fell 2.9%. IVZ shares ended Monday at $23.12, a loss of
69 cents on the day.
Wynn Resorts Ltd. (WYNN)
The casino developer dropped 2.9% after news from Macau cast a shadow on the gaming industry.WYNN shares last traded at $65.88
down $1.94 on the day.
Boston Scientific Corp. (BSX)
The medical-device developer posted a 2.8% loss to start the week. BSX shares closed at $10.00, a loss of 29 cents on the
day.
