Market Winners & Losers: Motorola, Fifth Third Bancorp

The major indices failed to close out the week on a winning note, as the Dow closed down 0.2%, the S&P lost 0.1% and the Nasdaq dropped 0.2%.
Here are Friday’s winners and losers:
Winners
Motorola Inc. (MOT)
The wireless-communications manufacturer got a boost of 8.9% after it unveiled its new phone powered by Google’s Android.
MOT shares closed at $8.68, a gain of 71 cents on the day.
MetroPCS Communications Inc. (PCS)
The wireless communications provider rose 8.3% on positive sector news. PCS shares last traded at $9.62, up 74 cents on the
day.
FedEx Corp. (FDX)
The parcel-shipper’s better-than-expected quarterly earnings helped the stock gain 6.4% on Friday. FDX shares ended the session
at $77.32, a gain of $4.66 on the day.
Advanced Mirco Devices Inc. (AMD)
The semiconductor manufacturer bucked sector trends to continue its winning streak. AMD shares finished trading at $5.68,
up 30 cents on the day.
FLIR Systems Inc. (FLIR)
The defense-contractor closed the week on an up note as it added 4.5% on Friday. FLIR shares ended the day at $25.85, a gain
of $1.12 on the day.
Losers
Fifth Third Bancorp (FITB)
The regional bank dropped sharp at the open and continued to spiral downward throughout the session, closing with a 6.2% loss.
FITB shares last traded at $9.78, down 65 cents on the day.
National Semiconductor Corp. (NSM)
The semiconductor manufacturer also dropped big on at the open to end the last session of the week down 5.9%. NSM closed at
$15.03 a loss of 94 cents on the day.
RadioShack Corp. (RSH)
The electronics retailer reacted poorly to a Best Buy downgrade, with shares falling 4.1%. RSH ended the session at $16.58,
down 70 cents on the day.
KeyCorp (KEY)
The bank-holding company closed the week on a down note, posting a 4.1% loss on Friday. KEY shares last traded at $5.93, down
25 cents.
KB Home (KBH)
The homebuilder gave back most of Thursday’s gains as the stock fell 3.9% to end the last session of the week. KBH shares
finished Friday, at $18.70 a loss of 75 cents on the day.
