Crude Oil Settles at $79.09

Crude oil for November delivery dropped 52 cents per barrel or 0.65% to settle at $79.09. Oil is up 12.01% from the month prior, and 77.33% for the year.
Reformulated gasoline for November delivery went up 0.05 cents per gallon to settle at $1.9877, while heating oil dropped 0.49 cents to settle at $2.0473.
Natural gas for November delivery went up 32.60 cents per million BTUs, to settle at $5.161. Month to date, it is up 6.61%.
On the Comex, gold for October delivery gained 50 cents per ounce, to settle at $1057.80, while silver dropped 6.70 cents per ounce to settle at $17.5430.
In London, Brent crude for December delivery dropped 53 cents per barrel, or 0.7% to close at $77.24 on the ICE Futures Exchange.
At the pump, consumers nationwide can expect to pay $2.57 per gallon of regular unleaded, down from a year prior when prices stood at $2.92 per gallon.
For oil companies, Chevron (CVX) closed at $77.03 while Exxon Mobil (XOM) closed at $73.02.
