    Republic Air Acquires Frontier Airlines

      Republic Airways Holdings (RJET) announced Thursday that its purchase of Frontier Airlines Holdings (FRNTQ) is complete.

      Frontier Airlines Holdings has recently come out of bankruptcy with its subsidiaries, Frontier Airlines and Lynx Aviation. In August, Republic’s bid of $108.8 million beat Southwest Airlines (LUV) for the purchase of Frontier.

      Frontier Airlines, based in Indianapolis, Ind., was founded in 1996 and operates in 35 states.
