Hyundai U.S. October Sales Up 48.9% To 31,005

SAN FRANCISCO -- Hyundai Motor Co. (HYMLF) on Tuesday reported a 48.9% increase in U.S. sales to 31,005 vehicles from 20,820 in October 2008. Sales of Genesis, the luxury model, rose 65% to 1,850 units. "With the recent encouraging economic news of a 3.5% GDP growth during the third quarter, the best in two years, we are looking forward to the final two months of the year," said Dave Zuchowski, Hyundai's vice president of sales.
