Flight Attendants At Delta Subsidiary To Unionize
By Christopher Hinton
MarketWatch Pulse
NEW YORK -- Flight attendants from Compass Airlines, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines , have elected to join the Association of Flight Attendants, or the AFA-CWA. Election results, released late Wednesday by the National Mediation Board, showed that 194 Compass flight attendants voted to join the union, a "strong majority," the association said. This is the fourth flight attendant group to elect AFA-CWA as their bargaining representative this year. The group, representing more than 50,000 flight attendants at 20 airlines world wide, hopes to eventually unionize all of Delta, the world's largest airline. Shares of Delta closed Wednesday at $7.76.
