NEW YORK -- The Federal Aviation Administration said Thursday that a five-hour long network failure has been resoloved, though its impact to flights is expected to be felt across the region with delays and cancellations. The National Airspace Data Exchange Network failed at both its locations -- Atlanta and Salt Lake City, just after 5:15 a.m. Eastern Time, according to the FAA and the National Air Traffic Controllers Association. East Coast flights were impacted the most, particularly those out of Atlanta and New York's JFK. A "ripple effect" is expected to impact the region's flights throughout the day, the NATCA said.
