European Shares Move Off Early Lows

LONDON -- European shares moved off early lows on Friday, with banks paring losses and autos gaining ground. BMW shares rose 1.4%. The U.K. FTSE 100 index declined 0.5% to 5,167.74, the German DAX index lost 0.6% to 5,581.46 and the French CAC-40 index lost 0.4% to 3,665.26.
