British Airways To Do All Possible To Protect Customer Travel

LONDON -(Dow Jones)- British Airways PLC (BAY.LN), a U.K. airline company, announced Friday that it is extremely disappointed that Unite has announced plans for a strike in the run-up to the Easter holidays and the company will do everything possible to protect customers travel plans.
MAIN FACTS:
-The company plans to operate all flights from London City airport, including long-haul services to New York.
-From Gatwick, it plans to operate all long-haul services and about 50% of short-haul.
-From Heathrow, its plans to operate a substantial part of our long-haul and short-haul schedule.
-It is also in the process of obtaining seats on flights operated by other carriers to enable thousands of customers to fly to their chosen destinations.
-The company will aim to give more details four or five days before the strike is due to begin when it will announce its revised flying program.
-The company remains available for further talks with Unite at any time.
-Shares at 1132 GMT up 2 pence, or 0.87%, at 232.50 pence.
