Sep 28, 2009 (SmarTrend(R) News Watch via COMTEX) ----9/28/2009-The world's largest mobile phone maker Nokia (NYSE:NOK) announced Monday that it acquired social networking startup Dopplr Oy. Dopplr Oy specializes in trip information sharing and Nokia said the company would offer "unique know-how in creating internet-based communities and showing their journeys, experiences, and tastes collectively." Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed, however, the price was "significantly less" than rumors had predicted.
