Teradata Earnings Rise, But Revenue Falls

NEW YORK -- Teradata Corp. said Thursday that third-quarter earnings were $63 million, or 36 cents a share, compared to $60 million, or 33 cents a share, in the same period a year ago. Revenue was $425 million compared to $439 million, down 3%. Analysts polled by FactSet Research estimated, on average, earnings per share of 30 cents and sales of $424 million. Teradata sees 2009 earnings per share of $1.32 to $1.36. On an adjusted basis, the data-storage company sees 2009 earnings per share of $1.34 to $1.38. FactSet analysts estimate Teradata earnings per share of $1.27 for the period.
