Skype Is Sued by Company Owned by Its Founders

A company owned by Skype’s founders sued Skype for copyright infringement, The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, in a move that could complicate eBay’s (EBAY) planned sale of Skype to an investor group.
Joltid Ltd., which is owned by Skype founders Janus Friis and Niklas Zennstrom filed suit in the U.S. District Court in Northern California, seeking an injunction against Skype and statutory damages for copyright infringement, the Journal said.
In a statement, a Joltid spokesman said the company would "vigorously enforce its copyrights and other intellectual property rights in all of the technologies it has innovated,” the Journal said.
An eBay spokesman told the Journal that the company “hadn't seen the complaint, and will be reviewing it accordingly."
