Report: Intel Announces New Chips at Developer Forum

Intel (INTC) announced several new developments, Tuesday at the Intel Developer Forum held in San Francisco, according to reports.
The chipmaker revealed a 30-watt Xeon Processor and two new Xeon 3400’s, one with 45 watts and another with 30 watts, to be released in 2009 and 2010, respectively, PC Magazine reported.
The company also announced “Larrabee,” which combines graphics with a microprocessor and “Jasper Forest,” a chip which combines a Nehalem processor with PCI Express 2.0 virtualization, and RAID 6 to create a power-efficient processor designed for networking and communications, according to a report in PC Magazine.
Shares of Intel fell a penny, or 0.05%, on Tuesday at $19.53 per share, but the stock was trading 3 cents higher in after-hours.
