LONDON -- Rentokil Initial said Friday that its third-quarter operating profit rose 53.7% to 59.8 million pounds ($99.1 million) as revenue grew 4.6% to 622.6 million pounds. The firm said it benefited from receiving 70% of its revenue in euros and that excluding the impact of exchange rate fluctuations, revenue fell 3.2%. The group also said that it has lifted its forecast for its delivery business City Link and now expects the division to report an operating loss of 7 million pounds, compared to the previous forecast of a 12 million pound loss, though it added that the benefit from U.K. postal strikes is expected to be marginal. "We anticipate a further quarter of good delivery in the fourth quarter despite few signs of economic recovery in our major markets," said CEO Alan Brown.
