Nvidia Reports Higher Quarterly Profit

SAN FRANCISCO - Nvidia Corp. on Thursday reported a third-quarter profit of $107.58 million, or 19 cents a share, compared with a profit of $61.75 million, or 11 cents a share, for the year-earlier period. Revenue was $903.21 million, up from $897.66 million for the same quarter last year. Adjusted income was 19 cents a share. Analysts had expected the Santa Clara, Calif.-based chip company to post earnings of 10 cents a share, on revenue of $835.2 million, according to a consensus survey by FactSet Research. For the current quarter, the company expects revenue "to be slightly up," about 2%, from the third quarter.
