Novellus Narrows Revenue, Earnings Outlook

SAN FRANCISCO - Novellus Systems on Thursday narrowed its revenue and earnings per share outlook for the fourth quarter, citing improvements in business conditions. The company said it now expects revenue in the range of $225 million to $245 million, compared to a previous range of $215 million to $245 million. Novellus also expects earnings per share in the range of 25 cents a share to 40 cents a share, compared with a previous range of 20 cents a share to 40 cents a share. Analysts expect the company to report earnings of 32 cents a share, on revenue of $233.9 million, according to a consensus survey by FactSet Research.
