Mobile phone maker Nokia (NOK) has put new managers in place at its mobile phone unit, moving Jo Harlow from the global marketing group to a newly created position of Smartphone business chief. Harlow joined Nokia in 2003 after working at Reebok and Procter and Gamble.

In order to compete in the complex Smartphone marketplace, Nokia has also hired a former manager at Apple (APPL). John Martin from Apple will join Nokia’s Mobile Computer Division in November.

In addition to facing stiff competition from companies like Apple, Nokia has lost significant market share to RIM (RIM), maker of Blackberry smartphones.
