Microsoft Corp (MSFT) announced in a press release Tuesday that its Chief Financial Officer Chris Liddell will leave the tech behemoth at the end of this year.
Liddell, 51, will be replaced by Peter Klein, who currently works as the chief financial officer for Microsoft’s Business Division. Klein is 47 years old and has been with the company since 2002.
“Chris and his finance team have accomplished a great deal over the past four and a half years. The team is deep and strong, and has an excellent record of building value for our shareholders,” said Steve Ballmer, Microsoft chief executive officer in a statement. “Peter brings great finance and operations expertise and a deep understanding of the company, and I am looking forward to a smooth transition that continues our commitment to cost containment and finance excellence.”
Shares of Microsoft fell 3 cents or 0.10% to close Tuesday’s session at $29.91 a share, before falling another 21 cents or 0.70% in after-hours trading.
