EBay Settles Skype Litigation

BOSTON -- EBay Inc. said Friday that it and an investor group led by Silver Lake have settled litigation with Joltid Limited and Joost N.V. over certain software licensed to Skype. Under the deal, Skype will gain ownership of software previously licensed from Joltid. In turn, Joltid and Skype's founders, Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis, will join the investment group in taking a 14% stake in Skype, with Joltid contributing software. EBay will retain a 30% position in Skype.
