Broad Losses Hit Tech Stocks Early

SAN FRANCISCO -- Technology stocks took it on the chin in early trading Wednesday, with losses coming from nearly every sector leader. Decliners included Apple Inc. , Microsoft Corp. , Cisco Systems Inc. and Hewlett-Packard Co. . Research In Motion Ltd. shares fell 2% to $60.16 after BMO Capital Markets analyst Tim Long cut his rating on the BlackBerry maker to market perform from outperform. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index fell almost 9 points to 2,194.
