Bellwethers Lead Broad Early Tech Gains

SAN FRANCISCO -- Technology stocks were mostly on the rise in early trading Monday, with gains coming from Dell Inc. , Oracle Corp. , Apple Inc. and Cisco Systems Inc. . The tech-heavy Nasdaq Compsosite Index rose 24 points to 2,192, while the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index rose 1.7% and the Morgan Stanley High Tech 35 Index was up by 1%.
