Video: The Charmin(R) Restrooms Return to Times Square This Holiday Season to Help Consumers Really 'Enjoy The Go'

NEW YORK, Nov 23, 2009 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ ----Today, the Charmin Restrooms(R) returned to Times Square for the fourth consecutive year, giving tourists and local New Yorkers a free, clean and family friendly place to "enjoy the go." Television personality and author Mario Lopez performed the ceremonial first flush and announced "The Go Team" - the lucky five Charmin Ambassadors chosen to work in the Restrooms for a $10,000 salary this holiday season. This year's "King of the Throne" is best known for his role as the host of "EXTRA" and "America's Best Dance Crew." He also authored the children's book titled, "Mud Tacos," and starred in the hit Broadway Musical "A Chorus Line."

Charmin was also thrilled to announce the five Charmin Ambassadors- Cody Melton, Leah Gerstel, Joan Emory, Antonio Vargas, and Annie Paulson - who were selected to be a part of "The Go Team" during an open job search in New York City on November 5, 2009. "The Go Team" will interact with hundreds of thousands of restroom guests and reveal exclusive, behind-the-scenes news by updating blogs and content on Charmin-branded Web sites and popular social media sites. They will also capture family-friendly video footage in the space and surrounding areas.

Since 2006, approximately 1.5 million visitors have experienced the 20 clean, deluxe, ADA compliant, family friendly and fully staffed restrooms that offer a highly engaging and interactive Charmin experience with additional luxuries like stroller parking, baby changing stations and seating and family photo areas. This year it also includes some fun new features, including a giant toilet photo op, digital graffiti wall, kids' toilet paper pit and video "can-fessional" booth.
The Restrooms are located at 1540 Broadway in Times Square between West 45th and West 46th streets and are open to the public Sunday - Wednesday from 10AM to 9PM, and Thursday - Saturday 10AM to 11PM from Monday, November 23 to Thursday, December 31. They will be open all day on Thanksgiving Day and until 6PM on Christmas Eve, but closed on Christmas Day.
Just one level up from the Restrooms, the Duracell Smart Power Lab invites guests to help power in a new decade - literally. Holiday visitors pedal specially designed Power Rovers to generate energy that is then captured and stored in batteries to light up the 2010 numerals when the Ball drops at midnight on New Year's Eve in Times Square.
