TJX Companies October Same-store Sales Up 10%

NEW YORK -- TJX Companies Inc. said Thursday that its October sales at stores open at least one year rose 10%. Analysts, on average, had expected same-store sales to rise 10.1%, according to Thomson Reuters. Total sales for the four weeks ended Oct. 31 rose 15% to $1.7 billion. For the third quarter, the discount retailer said it expects earnings to be at or above its forecast of 77 cents to 79 cents a share.
