Ross Stores Raises Third-quarter Forecast

NEW YORK -- Ross Stores Inc. said Thursday that its October sales at stores open at least one year rose 9%. Analysts, on average, had expected same-store sales to rise 7.3%, according to Thomson Reuters. Sales for the four weeks ended Oct. 31 rose 14% to $557 million. The retailer also raised its third-quarter profit forecast to a range of 83 cents to 84 cents a share from its prior view of 75 cents to 77 cents a share.
