La-Z-Boy Sees Profitable 2Q

Furniture-maker La-Z-Boy Inc. (LZB) reported fiscal second quarter earnings per share that missed expectations, while revenue topped estimates.
The company saw fiscal second-quarter profit of $5.9 million or 11 cents a share, compared to a net loss of $53.7 million or a loss of $1.05 per share in the year-ago quarter.
Revenue continued to edge lower compared to the year-ago quarter, falling 9.4% to $300.7 million.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters were expecting earnings of 12 cents per share on revenue of $285 million.
Same-store written sales, or sales that have been made without being delivered to the customer, fell 0.6%, with total sales falling 7.5%.
Shares of La-Z-Boy rose 12 cents or 1.67% in after-hours trading, Tuesday, after falling 20 cent or 2.71% during the session to close at $7.18 a share.
