H&M Same-store Sales Drop 3% On Weak France, U.S.

LONDON -- Hennes & Mauritz said October comparable-store sales fell 3%, while total sales rose 7% during the month. The Stockholm-based clothing retailer said most markets, notably France, Spain and the U.S., had continued weak sales, while sales in Scandinavia, Central Europe and Asia were "very satisfactory." Analysts polled by Dow Jones Newswires had expected a 3.3% rise in comparable-store sales.
