CVS Caremark Net Jumps 39% on "Solid Revenue Growth" and Narrows Outlook (CVS)

    Nov 05, 2009 (SmarTrend(R) News Watch via COMTEX) ----11/5/2009-CVS Caremark (NYSE:CVS) reported Q3 EPS of 65 cents, ex-items, topping consensus estimates by a penny.

    Revenues in the quarter rose 17.7% year-over-year to $24.6 billion, inline with consensus estimates.

    Dave Rickard, Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Administrative Officer, said, "Given our continued strong performance year to date, we are narrowing our earnings guidance range for 2009.

    We expect to deliver adjusted earnings per share from continuing operations, excluding the effect of the tax benefit, of $2.61 to $2.64, up from our previous guidance of $2.59 to $2.64." Analysts, on average, are projecting full-year 2009 EPS of $2.62.
