Costco Won't Stock Coke Products, Citing Pricing Dispute
FOXBusiness
In a decision that shocked the retail world, Costco (COST) Monday confirmed it will no longer carry Coca-Cola (KO) products due to a dispute over pricing.
Costco, one of the country’s largest wholesalers, and Coke, the world’s largest beverage maker, could not reach an agreement on price for the iconic beverage and the company's other products.
Costco posted a notice on its Website as well as on store shelves addressing the issue:
"Costco is committed to carrying name-brand merchandise at the best possible prices. At this time, Coca-Cola has not provided Costco with competitive pricing so that we may pass along the value our members deserve."
Coke products will not be removed from Costco shelves at this time, but the company said that drinks including Coke and Diet Coke will not be restocked until the situation is resolved, according to the Costco site.
