UTC Is Not Looking For Any Big Acquisitions -CEO
By Christopher Hinton
MarketWatch Pulse
NEW YORK -- United Technologies Corp. Chief Executive Louis Chenevert said Wednesday he doesn't see any "big plays" ahead in the mergers and acquisitions arena. His comments follow rumors last month that the Dow 30 component may be interested in buying aviation-equipment maker Rockwell Collins Inc. "I think we're a value buyer...and I would say that some properties in size and value are not even close to some of our parameters that we would consider at this point in time," Chenevert said, during an analyst meeting in New York. UTC is considering some smaller defense and aerospace asset buys, particularly ones that might add to its helicopter business, he said.
