U.K. Sep. Manufacturing, Industrial Output Jump

LONDON -- British manufacturing and industrial output jumped more than expected in September, government data showed Thursday. Manufacturing output saw a 1.7% monthly rise, while falling 9.3% from the year-ago level. Economists had forecast a 1% monthly rise and a 9.7% year-on-year decline. Industrial production saw a 1.6% monthly rise and a 10.3% year-on-year decline. Economists had expected a 1.3% monthly rise and a 10.2% annual fall.
