Double Bottom

Sounds kind of dirty, right? Actually, it's because of a clean visual that technical analysts use this term. Technical analysts like charts (hence their nickname of "chartists"), and they like to give certain patterns they see neat little names.

Such is the case with the double bottom, which looks on a chart like, well, a double bottom. Think of three mountains (on a chart reflecting a rise in values) separated by two valleys (representing dips in value). The troughs of the valleys, and the size of the first two peaks, are generally the same, so the chart looks like the letter 'W.' The appearance of those two valleys represents a double bottom.

So what? Well, if you're one of those folks who believes in the power of the charts, seeing a double bottom suggests a long-term trend is about to reverse. So, if a stock chart shows shares falling for several months, then seeing a double bottom, chances are good (according to the chartists) that the shares will rise. And vice versa.

But, beware: charts can be a great tool, but they're more art than science. Use any charts with caution.

TAIPEI, Taiwan, Aug 07, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) ----Delta Electronics, Inc., has just won the "2008 Outstanding Performance Award" from Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN), a leading global enabler of communication services, for the quick response, quality support and innovation delivered by its telecom power system team. Delta was recently featured on the cover of Forbes Asia magazine for its innovative DPR-2700 telecom power system. The award was presented at NSN's Supplier Innovation Awards Day held in Singapore, which invited the top 40 suppliers among NSN's 1,000 suppliers in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. This is the first year NSN has presented this award in the region, highlighting the valuable contributions that suppliers are making to NSN innovation. Earlier this year in May, Delta was also selected as NSN's Preferred Supplier in the APAC region.

"We present Delta Electronics with the 2008 Outstanding Performance Award for three major reasons. One is the proactive support from the Delta team for NSN's requirements in the APAC region. We also appreciate Delta's positive feedback from various engineering, sourcing and customer teams for open communications and management support. Another significant point is that Delta engages NSN with innovative ideas and proposals, striving for constant improvements to product quality and delivery efficiency," said Basil Byrne, Head of Service Procurement, Asia Pacific, Nokia Siemens Networks.

"Recognition from the network and telecom market leader who puts innovation on the top of its business agenda is encouraging and motivating to Delta as we continuously develop world-class power solutions and provide our best support to Nokia Siemens Networks. We also believe the close partnership between Delta and NSN will bring mutual business success now and in the future," said Mr. Herman Chang, General Manager of Network and Telecom Power Business Unit, Energy Solutions Business Group, Delta Electronics, Inc.

The DPR-2700 telecom power system developed by Delta Electronics, Inc., is the world's highest density power rectifier, providing 2700W power for BTS and BSC with dimensions of 42mm/1U(W) * 125.5mm/3U(H) * 268mm(D). With its innovative energy saving controller, this power system provides operators with maximum efficiency by detecting the loading of BTS and then adjusting the power system so that the minimum number of rectifiers are working. This function saves operating expenditures (OPEX) on electricity and enhances the MTBF of the system.

The cutting-edge technology delivered by Delta's telecom power systems creates value for Delta's partners through energy saving, high density, high power efficiency and battery management, allowing easy installation and maintenance savings.
