SkyePharma: Flutiform Phase III Study Complete

TEL AVIV -- SkyePharma Plc, the London producer of pharmaceuticals using proprietary drug-delivery technologies, said that a partner, Mundipharma International Corp., completed the final Phase III study of flutiform, which is being developed to treat asthma. The higher-dose-strength study met its primary endpoints, SkyePharma said. The successful completion means the companies will be able to file for European marketing clearance as they had planned, in the first quarter, SkyePharma said. Mundipharma, Basel, has the rights to commercialize flutiform -- fluticasone and formoterol in an inhaler -- outside the Americas and Japan, SkyePharma said.
