Google Uses Search Power for Flu Vaccine
By Darryl R. Isherwood
FOXBusiness
As the H1N1 virus – better known as swine flu – continues to spread, killing an estimated 4,000 people in the U.S. so far, Google (GOOG) has stepped in to help users find what has so far proved to be an elusive vaccine.
The company has created a shot finder, accessed at www.google.com/flushot, which allows users to search a zip code, address or city for both the swine flu and seasonal flu vaccine.
Seasonal flu shots are in red, while swine flu shots are depicted in blue.
According to published reports, Google plans to link the search function to flu.gov. Google warns the search engine users to call ahead to be sure vaccines are still in stock.
