Drug Stocks Trend Lower; Alkermes Slides

BOSTON -- Drug stocks trended lower early Friday as shares of Alkermes Inc. fell after it issued its fiscal second-quarter earnings report. The NYSE Arca Pharmaceutical Index dipped 0.8% to 2988.88 and the NYSE Arca Biotechnology Index slipped marginally to 881.88. Shares of Alkermes were down 4% at $7.77.
