AmerisourceBergen Reports 22% Jump in 4Q Profits

AmerisourceBergen, (ABC). a large drug distribution company, reported a 22% rise in earnings per-share in its fourth quarter.
The Chesterbrook, Pa., company’s net income totaled $130.1 million, or 44 cents a share, up from $114.9 million, or 36 cents a share, in the year prior. Sales at the company amounted to $18.7 billion, up more than 9% from $17.2 billion in the year prior.
"We have great positive momentum going into the new fiscal year," said CEO David Yost in a company statement. “In fiscal year 2010 we expect to achieve diluted earnings per share in the range of $1.82 to $1.92, an 8% to 14% increase over diluted earnings per share from continuing operations in fiscal 2009."
The shares rose 3% on Tuesday to $23.20.
