LONDON -- Britain's RSA Insurance Group said third-quarter net written premiums rose 4% to 5.03 billion pounds ($8.3 billion) after rate increases and strong retention in Canada and rate rises in Ireland. Its net asset value per share rose to 104 pence from 95 pence. It still expects to deliver a combined operating ratio, a measure of claims and expenses to premiums, of around 95% in 2009.
