Progressive's Quarterly Net Tops Expectations

BOSTON -- Progressive Corp. on Wednesday reported third-quarter net income of 40 cents a share, compared with a loss of $1.03 a share in the same quarter the prior year. Wall Street analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters had forecast earnings of 33 cents a share, on average.
