By Ronald D. Orol
MarketWatch Pulse
WASHINGTON - The Treasury Department and Federal Reserve have delayed by six months to June 1, 2010 when Internet gambling companies are required to comply with a new gambling statute. Gambling industry associations in September petitioned the Treasury and Fed for an extension of 12 months from when they are required to comply with the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. The law prohibits credit card companies from processing payments for online gambling.
