Ex-Deutsche Bank CEO Charged Over Testimony: WSJ
By Robert Daniel
MarketWatch Pulse
TEL AVIV -- Former Deutsche Bank Chief Executive Rolf Breuer was charged on Wednesday in a Munich court with giving false testimony during a lawsuit, The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday. The Journal reported that the case stems from charges by a former German media investor, Leo Kirch, that Breuer drove his media operations into bankruptcy by questioning the investor's creditworthiness during a TV interview in 2002. German prosecutors allege that Breuer gave false testimony during a lawsuit that Kirch brought against him and the bank, the Journal reported. Deutsche Bank, through a spokesman, rejected the charges, the Journal reported. A lawyer for Breuer couldn't be reached for comment, the Journal said.
