European Shares Jump In Early Trading

LONDON -- European shares climbed on Wednesday, moving higher for the fifth time in six sessions, with miners leading the advance as metal futures climbed. Earnings were also helping sentiment, with shares of J. Sainsbury up 1.9%, E.On shares up 2.9%, Credit Agricole up 3.9% and ING shares up 4.6% after updating investors. The U.K. FTSE 100 index rose 0.9% to 5,278.61, the German DAX index climbed 0.9% to 5,665.05 and the French CAC-40 index up 1% at 3,823.78.
