Elizabeth Warren To Head Consumer Agency?

WASHINGTON - Elizabeth Warren, who heads a congressional oversight panel for a $700 billion bank bailout fund, may be the first head of a proposed Consumer Financial Protection Agency that she has been a long-time advocate of. House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Franke, D-Mass., said Tuesday that he would like Warren, a Harvard Law School professor, to head the agency that will be charged with overseeing mortgages and credit card products offered to consuemrs.
