QUITO -(Dow Jones)- Ecuador's state-owned Esmeraldas refinery will close for a 15-day maintenance period Friday, said the country's minister of nonrenewable natural resources, Germanico Pinto.
At a press conference Thursday, Pinto said the 110,000 barrels-a-day refinery, Ecuador's largest, will be closed for planned maintenance until March 26.
To ensure adequate supplies for the domestic market, Petroecuador is importing 720,00 barrels of high-octane naphtha and gasoline, as well as 210,000 barrels of cutter stock and 240,000 barrels of gasoil.
