It probably says a lot about California’s desperate financial straits that the leading candidate for governor built a fortune
hawking goods on the Internet.
Here's the deal.
Meg wants to close the deal.
With California voters, who ironically love Barack Obama, but apparently don't much love the cost of the bigger government
that could come with Barack Obama.
So Meg Whitman of eBay fame has auctioned off her corporate life for a political one, convinced what worked for her in the
corner office will land her in the governor's office.
So...From Terminator... to Auctionator.
Stranger things have happened.
And clearly Republicans sense they're happening now, and this is their post-Tea Party moment.
I was in Sacramento, I saw it myself.
And it wasn't just Republicans.
Lots of voters, fed up with the same old way of doing business.
Clearly, Meg ain't same-old in California.
Just like on the other coast... Chris Christie ain't same-old in New Jersey.
He's a former prosecutor, more experienced at busting heads than busting budgets.
They're odd choices in states where clearly Republicans could be rolling some very odd dice.
If either or both succeeds...The message is clear.
Clearly, go outside the grand old Petri dish.
After all, who better to claim they're not part of the old guard than folks who literally aren't?
