JOHANNESBURG -(Dow Jones)- Harmony Gold Mining Co. (HAR.JO), one of Africa's largest producers of the precious metal, Wednesday said it has stopped blasting at its Tshepong mine following an early morning rockfall in which a mineworker was killed.

The incident occurred about 2,077 meters below the surface at the mine in South Africa's Free State province.

Investigations by mine management and the Department of Mineral Resources have begun, the South African company said.
