Cavuto: First the Bailout, Then the Blame Game

    After the rescue...the rumble.

Fannie and Freddie get bailed out, politicians trying to figure out...how to avoid blame.

So the White House saying it's Congress's fault...we warned 'em this could happen.

Congress not wasting a nano-second saying the White House...they were clueless thinking this wouldn't happen.

And while the meter's running, the costs could be climbing.

At a time our deficit is soaring.

    So politicians desperately calculating.

Republicans claiming these housing agencies were run by all former Clintonites.

Democrats countering they were done in by bad Bush economic policies.

    Here's the thing though:

Both are sides for the rescue but kind of saying they're against the rescue.

Barack Obama says the government had no choice, but it better watch those payouts to departing fat cats.

John McCain and Sarah Palin arguing much the same in a Wall Street Journal editorial, but we better not let this happen again.

    There's bipartisan bravery for 'ya.

I'm tell you, this will be a huge issue, particularly because we might not be done with this issue...neither with the escalating cost of this bailout or the very likely possibility we could be seeing another one...and maybe soon.

So politicians might feign shock and awe.

But nothing shocking and awe-inspiring about their predictable responses.

To sum up: against but for, personally opposed but grudgingly willing.
