Cavuto: Angela Merkel Is the Deal
By Neil Cavuto, Managing Editor & Anchor

Angela...back from the ashes.
Here's the deal:
Angela's the deal.
Angela Merkel is the model.
And Germany is the message.
Voters there sending a very loud and clear message everywhere.
Conservatives aren't dead.
But big spending may be.
Not that the message is getting through here, where the spending spigot is just getting stoked.
But in Germany, they've clearly had it.
And placed back in power the one party that has not been too keen on it.
Because while Barack Obama and Britain’s Gordon Brown and countless others were saying, “Spend, baby, spend,” German chancellor Angela Merkel was saying, stop, baby, stop.
Angela knew well of what she spoke.
And so did her country.
Where the memory of runaway government spending triggered hyperinflation and a slightly hyper guy named Adolf to take advantage of the economic wreck that ensued.
Still, Angela was all but relegated to Western party pooper.
When everyone was gung-ho to spend, Angela was gung-ho to say she was just spent.
When others were tapping credit lines, Angela was happy to let them all know Germany was done tapped out.
And now leaders who tried to ostracize her are taking a second look at her...Convinced now that maybe voters favor what she's doing than what they're doing.
Because she's looking disciplined.
And they're not.
And today, she's looking at tax cuts.
Even as they continue to look at tax hikes.
Some think Angela and Germany are unique events....that they don't represent the status quo.
The status has changed, my friends.
Angela knows it.
Pity, they clearly do not.
