Boehringer to Pick Up Animal-Health Assets as Part of Pfizer-Wyeth Deal
By Lauren Covello
FOXBusiness
Pfizer Inc. (PFE) and Wyeth (WYE) announced a plan Monday for some of Wyeth’s animal health assets to be acquired by Boehringer Ingelheim. The move comes as a result of Pfizer’s acquisition of Wyeth – a transaction that the pharmaceutical giants expect will be finalized early in the fourth quarter of 2009.
The companies said Boehringer will get products, research and manufacturing facilities in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Boehringer may also acquire animal vaccines outside of the U.S., the companies said.
The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement.
