By Robert Schroeder
MarketWatch Pulse
WASHINGTON -- A bill that would extend unemployment benefits in all states for 14 weeks and maintain an $8,000 tax credit for first-time homebuyers cleared another procedural hurdle in the Senate on Wednesday. Democrats hope to move to final passage of the bill as early as Wednesday. The bill also gives workers in hard-hit states up to 20 weeks of extra benefits and expands the tax credit to repeat buyers.
