" Tomorrow lawmakers in DC will sit down to vote on the 1900. Page plus. -- one point two trillion dollar health care bill Nancy Pelosi says. She needed to -- support she needs 218 votes for this thing to pass in the house. Question is will she get them -- Wisconsin Democrat Ron kind he joins us now from DC. That's that's the first question are you going to have to vote this weekend and are you confident that. You'll get enough of the Republican Democrat receivers on board the boat and get it passed. Hi guys at happy hour by the way what -- right."

" Quoted. I've voted against the legislation when it came out of my Ways and Means Committee because they felt -- didn't do enough and cost containment model we bring cost down. To make health care more affordable for all Americans here's the problem is nice you. Today we're spending over 70800. Billion dollars every year on tests and procedures that the war. They don't improve patient care and because the over treatment too many instances we're making patients worse off rather than better off. I was able to get this legislation a way to change the way we pay for health care. Away from the feed for service system that we have now which involved volume based payments toward equality for all companies payment system that I think. Crucial fundamental reform and all you make health care more affordable for all Americans."

" A representative kind what's the rats. Sent it's not going to vote on this quietly pushing this one what's the urgency to get this done so quickly as opposed to getting it done --"

" Currently. I think that's in the I had to be -- what I mean really have to look back at Teddy Roosevelt's first president was calling for major health care reform in this country that was over a hundred years ago. And we've been living in reading this now for the better part of ten months and even way before that I've been working on payment reform. Since the very day I joined congress in late 1990s. But the saddest coolest clearly unacceptable in this unsustainable. If we do nothing we know what the consequences of that will be we will pay more. We will get laughs and we will -- for ourselves from family and business and public budgets alike so I don't think doing nothing is very viable option right now."

" Congressman let's talk about small businesses you know we're talking earlier in the show about job creation this terrible unemployment situation we have in this country. You know we want to stop relying on the government. To be our saving grace to create jobs for us to give -- unemployment -- truck okay -- this health care reform. Isn't going to hurt the small business is it gonna help the small business this is the big debate. You know they're sitting here saying that a business is not -- higher because of what you're doing. Is that true end -- not explain."

" It is a very important issue and when you look at the fifty million or so uninsured in this country most of them are working Americans and small businesses on family farms -- individuals. Who can't a lot of the small group market today and find affordable health care. That's why you based on legislation and have offered in previous years were setting up this national purchasing pool for small business to go into. And in through power you know -- through competition in the marketplace they'll have a menu of health plan options to choose from with complete transparency. What they're going to get. How much they're going to pay for -- and we will find. Have the same type of large group leverage that big companies have. When they go -- negotiate rates for their employees self I think that's an important step up and we're coupling it with tax credits to make it even more affordable. For small businesses but let's and I haven't talked of small business owner yet who wouldn't want to be able to provide health care coverage for his or her employee. They can't because it's too expensive I think this national exchange as a way for them to do that."

" Represented were just about out of time any day any chance that we are going to know for sure repeal. The exception to the antitrust laws at the end of health insurance companies have across this country I don't want to hear about cross border prostate. Transfer of these policies I want. I antitrust and force."

" Yes you know we are going to be re feeling that that's in the legislation right now but more importantly we're going to change the way we pay for health care. So there's value based on volume -- I think that is fundamentally -- For reform and then allow competition in the marketplace. It would drive prices down even more we're going to deal with preexisting conditions. You know the ability of insurance company yeah -- people when they do get sicker in. Can be more emphasis on prevention and wellness which is long overdue."

" Rule of law guys represented --"

" We'll keep our eye out on all of this thank you very much for joining us thanks guys."
